Thanks, we appreciate it and those who want to fly there in the future will appreciate it too

6. A Church or chapel

  • With a spire
  • For a further TWO bonus points - Flight conducted wholly inside an FRZ (Evidence of permission to fly such as an email required)
  • Drone Scene entry (with correctly entered FRZ permission details)

Realistically, I’m not going to get to an FRZ, so only 3 points please:

No other buildings for 150 metres (as the ‘house’ is attached to the tower, it’s the same building, right?)

3 points?

You are selling yourself short, John. You can have four points certainly but:

8. A landscape in the next county to the one I live in

  • An area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB or, in Scotland, an NSA)
  • A 360 degree panorama (hosted on Kuula)
  • Drone Scene entry
  • A screenshot of your existing or newly added Members’ Map entry

You tick all the boxes on your entry and, even in our sleep deprived and fatigue-addled state we count a total of five points

Still working from original challenges subject sheet which didnt have a “bullett” against the screenshot for members map entry So I thought best to just ask for the 4 points. if i am to received 5 perfect… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks for your entries and welcome to the Birthday Challenge. Both of your entries are accepted although we cant allow the bonus point for ‘No other buildings for 150 metres’ as the building you refer to is in no way attached to the lighthouse/tower. So 2 points awarded.

As you pointed out for your ‘A Static Caravan Site’ entry there are empty pitches but also there are not ‘5 or more mobile homes with green roofs’ so unfortunately we need to deduct a point for this too. So another 2 points awarded
Total of 4 points added to the scoresheet

Item 16. An isolated tower (NOT a wind turbine tower)

Portobello Tower, Hilton Park Staffordshire. Photo taken 23/07/22 11:49

Deliberately took photo with the nearest buildings in shot. Claiming bonus points for:

  • No other structure or buildings within 150m.

  • Drone Scene entry

Hi Ade @firstadekit thanks for your entry can you please edit your DS entry to include the location of the tower in the title please as per the below recent post.

Would love too, but I don’t seem to be able to appear to edit DroneScene entries. I can edit the post it creates (which I’ve done with the requested info), but not the actual entry?

Thanks Ade, that should be fine as if anyone sees the entry in the ‘Where to fly’ section it now has the location information required and if they find it in the DS map then they have a pin showing them where the tower is :+1:t2:

3 more points added to the scoresheet :+1:t2:

While I agree with the first, as I wasn’t able to see that from the front…

The second point removal is incorrect.
All the static caravans have green roofs!

Sampling the roof colour in a graphics program (GIMP) gives this result:

gimp-2.10_kOXoUBdlr2

As hex codes are difficult to visualise the sample colour is also indicated by the crossed lines in the colour square to the left. It looks grey with a hint of blue to us.

Also for reference in the below image we have circled 2 green roofs which if you compare to the other roofs shows they are a grey colour and different to the green ones.

Fair enough…

Judges decisions are final! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

    Marquee erected on lawn
