Leonard took a very necessary break from his dispiriting job as a senior Drone Scene bonus editor

Not familiar with timelapse on my mini 2 but at 5 to 1 at 24 FPS. I could only get about 7.5s of video is that ok? ![]()
You can speed up or slow down video in virtually all editors as well as / instead of in drone.
You are allowed up to 30 seconds of video to illustrate the subject. So at maximum length that’s 2 1/2 minutes of raw footage.
All we want is a clear video 30 seconds or shorter, clearly showing the wheel in motion
@Challenges_Committee ref item 5 how close to 22.00 does the clock have to be. Will 2/3 minutes over count?
Thanks for the query Steve, the answer is it needs to be 22:00 as per the bonus requirement ![]()
We want 22:00 exactly, not 21:59 or 22:01. It’s the time on the clock that is important . We can be reasonably lenient on the exif data - public clocks have been known to be slow or fast,
yep the one i just went to and got wet for is 15 minutes fast and by the time the mini 3 had enough sats to get high enough it was 3 minutes past ![]()
oh well I’ll have to go tomorrow.
Cheers anyway
So does the Mini have a similar satellite acquisition problen to the Mavic 3 or were you just unlucky with the number of sats in view?
Can sometimes be a bit slow especially when the clould cover is really low like tonight. It took about 4 minutes to get enough lock to turn off the flight limitations.
I’m not fussed at least “an image” was submitted and accepted, thanks anyway.![]()

17. A Quarry, sand or gravel pit
- Still in use for original purpose
- Dragline excavator
- Drone Scene entry
Taken this morning (31-07-22) in the misty rain using the Mavic 2 pro.
the TAOL is on public land at the end of a private rd.
Unfortunately no drag line
Claiming a total of 3 points.
Ta.
What a shame about the mist - who knows what might be lurking in the farther reaches of the quarry?
(We do - we scoured the Google Earth image from 2019 - bo trace of dragline excavators at the quarry
)
So did i, had a choice of 4 quarries non had a drag line.
not many exist now - I found one rusting away - but not in use.
Also found a nice train - but the engine had been removed, just leaving the wagons. Got there just too late.
Taken this very windy morning, 31/07/22 at Grey Fort, Helen’s Bay, Co. Down, with Mini 2, around 7.30am
Three points please.
A military a site of either World War
Grey Point Fort - Wikipedia
- Used in First World War but at no point used for military purposes in the Second
(used in both wars) - Aviation use in either war
(I’m assuming by ‘aviation use’ you don’t include blowing planes out of the sky?
) - Run as a tourist attraction (website or wiki entry to prove)
Grey Point Fort - Helen’s Bay - Discover Northern Ireland - Gate guardian (an aircraft or vehicle “standing guard” at the entrance}

- Drone Scene entry

After 4 hours trawling google maps for a dragline excavator the reality will be at the end of a two hour drive…

Taken at Ballyholme beach, Bangor, Co. Down, Mini 2, 31/07/22, around 8.30am.
Absolute panic stations with this one - I spotted the guy getting ready so I walked up the beach to put the drone in the air. I took a few shots of him getting ready then some more when he actually started windsurfing. I got home and loaded them onto the laptop to find no photos of him in action. After recovering from my near coronary I discovered that the photo count had reached ‘999’ and that they’d restarted from ‘001’ again and Windows had placed them at the start of the folder instead of at the end with the others. So, panic over, I got the shot I needed, it just required a slight crop to show him clearly.
Just the one point please:
A person or persons windsurfing ![]()
