No one can say I’m not at least showing a modicum of dedication to this challenge. Yesterday’s location was the south east corner of Lough Neagh, today’s is from the northwestern corner.
Taken 12/08/22 Toomebridge, Co. Antrim, Mini 2 around 12.30pm
I spoke to the manageress who was quite happy for me to TOAL from the drop-off point for guests.
The problem is as nearly everyone except the mega hardcore will be meh to even bothering getting that item. The fun element is kind of took away when you know there’s going to be at least one blemish on your record.
Every subject should st least be obtainable. The extra challenge comes from the bonus points for those that want maximum points. Not everyone does and most are happy to just tick off every item.
Anyway. It’s one for the feedback thread afterwards.
@Challenges_Committee This one is impossible for me there aren’t any Freight trains in Northern Ireland
And?
Well, I checked with the guy in the station in Lurgan yesterday he said there hadn’t been any for years.
How do we know you’re not spoofing?
Look, see
OK, we can see that.
The depot at Adelaide is still there, I could get a drone shot of it? Here’s what’s on Google maps.
So it is, but there’s no freight train!
Ghost train?
Very funny. No!
How about something else railway-related?
Like what?
A level crossing?
You already did that!
Yes, but this one’s different.
Oh, how so?
Well it’s a special one, taken with my Mini 2, 7/08/22, 815am (ish) at Trooperslane railway station near Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim.
OK, we’ll bite, what’s special about it?
It’s special because it has got an articulated lorry with a blue cab going across it.
Yes, so what are you saying?
Well, maybe a single point for the impossibility of the original subject for NI competitors and the fact that I’m offering you an alternative?
Mmm, don’t know about that, leave it with us.
OK, cheers, thanks for considering it.

Can’t say we’re familiar with ATC dividing their FRZs into coloured zones (such as the green zone in the email) but good to hear you had such a positive experience.
Drax Biomass Freight Train
Mini 2; 13/8/22; 10:35
Taken from a public footpath just north of Gowdall, East Yorkshire (53.701550, -1.065951)
7. A Freight train (Standard gauge rail) Photo or a video of less than 30 seconds (hyperlapse allowed)
More than 20 wagons
All the same type of wagon (except locomotive(s) and guards van - if any)
All the same logo on wagons or containers (except locomotive(s) and guard’s van - if any)
So, I’d like to claim 4 points for this … however see below for logo issue:
Freight train (Standard gauge rail) Photo or a video of less than 30 seconds (hyperlapse allowed)
More than 20 wagons
All the same type of wagon (except locomotive(s) and guards van - if any)
All the same logo on wagons or containers (except locomotive(s) and guard’s van - if any) - For some unearthly reason, the word ‘Drax’ logo does not appear on each carriage, however, the ‘PowerHouse’ logo does (top right of the carriage) - I shall leave it to the challenges committee to decide if it meets the bonus point criteria
Again unfortunately we are unable to award the bonus points for ‘At least one person sitting in a deck or camping chair’ and ‘At least one person wearing a red top’ as they (presumably yourself) are outside the boundary of the allotments. So 2 points awarded
