Congratulations for submitting the 1000th post in this thread! In recognition of this amazing achievement, you have been awarded… the 2 points you have claimed.
We’ve also tidied up your post a bit. The item only requires a single video to be submitted, so your hyperlapse will do nicely

Further info on tank
The FV101 Scorpion is a British armoured reconnaissance vehicle, and also a light tank. It was the lead vehicle and the fire support type in the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked), CVR(T), family of seven armoured vehicles. Manufactured by Alvis, it was introduced into service with the British Army in 1973 and was withdrawn in 1994.More than 3,000 were produced and used as a reconnaissance vehicle or a light tank. It holds the Guinness world record for the fastest production tank; recorded doing 82.23 km/h (51.10 mph) at the QinetiQ vehicle test track, Chertsey, Surrey, on 26 January 2002.
I was going to try and argue that as the item did not specify which inertial frame of reference should be used when deciding if the vehicle is ‘in motion’, that if the Drones frame of reference was chosen, the vehicle was indeed ‘in motion’ as the drone moved over the ground.
But it’s hard to illustrate that concept in a photo, let alone prove it to the satisfaction of ChallCom
The FV100 series (Stormer, Styker, Samson eyc) have a militarised version of the Jaguar XK 5 cylinder engine. The aluminium hulled vehicle weighs around seven tons, the engine puts out 195 bhp. It has been known for certain naughty crew members, assisted by REME co-conspirators, to fiddle with the governor to allow the engine to rev freely.
When you are punting a heavily laden artic (blue cab of course!) down the M40 you do not expect to be overtaken by a tank that is busy chasing down Transits
3 points btw!
What was going on there? Was it being loaded / unloaded for a show?
You could argue that everything is in motion if it is at a temperature above absolute zero. Or moving to the macro level everything is in motion relative to a point in space due to the various rotational and orbital motions of our earth and the rest of the universe.
But you are right, you wouldn’t get a point for it,
Do you have anything closer - it is hard to make out the “lovely RAF bluey-grey”.
Thanks - as one of the judges used to organise a large three-day military vehicle show he tends to be a right know-it-all when it comes to military vehicles and events
Unfortunately not, that’s as close as I was comfortable with keeping vlos, as there were a large number of power lines in the area.
It used to be at the entrance next to the Spitfire:
But they now have a load of artillery guns there, with the Scammell relegated to the far end of the camp
