Thanks for the resubmission Andrew @BadManners 4 points awarded

A ā€˜time-lapse’ has to be a video as it is a sequence of stills shown at a shorter time interval than they were taken.

:crutch: :bear:

We are going to reword the subject ā€˜Light Trails’ to make it clearer what is required for the subject

I think Andrew meant it needs to have a still photo as well. As do all items unless it says video only.

I’m OK with that :+1:

Exactly that Ian, for the main subject and bonuses a still image is required with the exception of the ā€˜Timelapse’ bonus which is a seperate bonus point

Is also why I submitted one as that’s how I read it, albeit blurry but it’s there

My Mini 2 doesn’t have a timelapse (or hyperlapse) feature.

At the risk of coming across like my username… I mean this with love in my heart: why not use every 60th frame from a video to make a timelapse? Who cares if 59 of every 60 frames that were shot are not included in the end video?

My Mini 2 doesn’t have a timelapse (or hyperlapse) feature.

It does indeed. Set the camera to take a picture every 2 or 3 seconds. Fly for 15/20 minutes and capture several hundred shots. Then use something like DaVinci to create the timelapse at correct compression ratio. Job done.

Fair enough. I suppose Litchi could help too.

Taking that many pictures with a mini 2… it would run out of juice, and me out of patience, after 10 mins.:rofl:

Don’t be daft ya loon, the below is 500 shots, 2 seconds apart, taken on my mini2 and put together in davinci

That’s cool that !

ChalCom have decided to reword subject No.2 ā€˜Vehicle Light Trails’ to make it clearer what is required for the subject. We require a still image for the main subject and all bonus points with the exception of the ā€˜Timelapse/Hyperlapse’ bonus which is seperate from the main subject and bonus points. This will require either a Timelapse or Hyperlapse video linked separately from the main still image in the same entry post.
It has also been decided that speeded up video will be accepted at a compression of atleast 5-1.
The subject has been reworded as below.

Any queries please feel free to either message us @Challenges_Committee or ask here in the thread

It has been a harrowing day. Battered by the Met Office’s latest storm on the way into the Chall Com bunker at an unholy hour this morning we found the staff cycle park occupied by the vehicles of the main GADC Committee.

rolls-royce-delivery

If you think this shows the powers that be are high rollers wait till you see PingSpikes ride!

Snap inspection! Nobody expects the main GADC Committee! And this just had to be the day, the day after two weeks of a well-mannered and enjoyable challenge, that our lack of precision in the wording of a subject came under scrutiny from both our lovely competitors and the [expletives deleted] of the main committee.

We were so roundly and severely chastised that this update had to be written standing up …
