Visited the Ruskin Museum in Coniston last August. As a child I watched Donald Campbell’s fateful water speed record attempt, and was awestruck to see it restored and on display in all it’s glory.

I’ve done a video of the story behind the tragic event too; out in a couple of days.

A stunning sunset from the apartment balcony on Christmas Eve, overlooking Watergate Bay, near Newquay, in Cornwall ..

Shame about the monstrosity of a Christmas Ice Rink .. and that lamppost needs to go! :stuck_out_tongue:

Less impressive on Boxing Day … but the red colour is spot on!

A couple from a trip to Dinorwic quarry the other day. Reasonably happy with them considering I was ‘learning on the job’ using my Xmas present camera for the first time.

Golden Hour at Bow Lake

It is renown for its breathtaking turquoise-blue waters and dramatic mountain scenery.

The lake lies south of the Bow Summit, and is one of the lakes that line the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park and Jasper National Park,

One from Saturday night and tonight. It’s normally pitch black out here but the moon so bright on Saturday and a sky full of stars tonight, I think the phone has brightened the sky a bit too much tonight. Taken on the iPhone 17 pro.

Having a play with my new camera, and first attempt at ‘star trails’. Taken in my back garden over about an hour and half, a shot every 30 seconds. What you see is lifted straight from the camera. Happy with it for a first attempt, shame about the cloud and aeroplane

Omg so beautiful, what did you use to take the pic.

I been there seen exact views but unfortunately mine was with a bad hangover after a session in jasper’s Athabasca nightclub got back to our camp in middle of nowhere in jasper national park at 7am walking at 8 am  I even got knocked out cold by a over hanging tree which I did not see under my raincoat :face_with_head_bandage: unfortunately cameras were shit back then early 80’s but did still have a book sent to me from a girl I met there and lovely wee messages through the book had even had pics with her as well and when I got married they miraculously disappeared :face_with_peeking_eye: fortunately wifey does not read to many books so opening the book I can smile :joy::joy::joy:

I was based at Wainwright camp and went to Edmonton Calgary on R&R and did jasper adventure training. Jasper was fantastic white water rafting :scream: horse trekking in the mountains bike riding and them amazing crystal clear blue and green lakes which was ice cold even thou it’s blasting sun out on the mountains.

Omg I feel that my life’s been boring but so many memories come flooding back recently reading threads on this forum.

Probably a camera?

Another shot from my Rockies trip. Bow Lake again, this one in blue hour just before the sun popped over the mountains.

Many thanks for the feedback - glad it jogged a few memories for you

I shot it with a Nikon Z7

Just posted further down in the thread another shot from the same location but about 30 minutes earlier before the sun came up into the valley
