Leaderboard updated!
@JoeC jumps from 15th place up to 12th place and there are a couple of minor shuffles in the lower half of the leaderboard
Just to make sure their were no queries
Very dark and moody
I was going for that look Brian, I knew it was going to be cloudy but only 1% chance of rain according to my weather app, on the way it started raining so I thought it was going to be a wasted journey.
I have enhanced it but it works
Rainbow (only one ) - but a real one this time!
On my way to grab a different pic altogether and a rainbow appeared in front of me like magic! Typically nowhere to pull over and park immediately, kit all in the boot etc… By the time I’d stopped, set up and got aloft this was the best I could grab, it was fading fast and I wasn’t exactly the calmest Ive ever been! - but it is a real Rainbow (can you tell I’m chuffed!!)
Just outside Bangor, Anglesey at 6am this morning.
Castle - WITH a Moat. Beaumaris Castle, Beaumaris, Anglesey, 6.30am this morning.
Shame about all the building work, going to need some photoshop fixing. Weird morning Sunrise, blue sky over one shoulder, heavy rain over the other!
That probably means me heading down the rankings
I love Beaumaris Castle but last time I visited I only had my DSLR - love this aerial view.
It’ll be even nicer if they ever finish it
Congratulations and a great image to boot
Something 100 Years Old - Old Oswestry Hill Fort. Taken this morning around 8am, Oswestry, Shropshire.
Probably a little bit of overkill on the 100 year front
Old Oswestry was built and occupied during the Iron Age (800 BC to AD 43) and is one of the best-preserved hillforts in Britain. During this period Britain was divided into numerous tribal territories, and the hillfort was probably a stronghold and principal settlement for one of these. A fine example of a ‘multi-vallate’ or multiple rampart hillfort, it is one of a dense band of hillforts in eastern Wales and the Marches. It remained in use for almost 1,000 years.
“they don’t build them like they used to!”
Lol… Show off
This is Wigginton church, vaguely between Banbury and Hook Norton (or Fair Lady and More Than Fair Beer) in Oxfordshire
The church was originally built about 1300, but had serious remodelling in in the 1880s. There are six bells in the tower, though originally there were only 3 - the other 3 were added by a bit of recasting in 1998.
The only other thing of note is that so far this has been a very green challenge - I’ve either walked or cycled to the locations
