In order to celebrate our second birthday, much like last year, we’re holding a “Birthday Challenge Competition”, with actual PRIZES!

So, without further ado:
Welcome to the ‘2019 Birthday Treasure Hunt Competition’.
The objective is simple - collect (by means of photo or video) as many of the treasure hunt items listed below in the allotted time frame (approx. six weeks).
Each treasure hunt item collected earns you one point. Bonus points are also available for some treasure items.
The winner will be the person who has ‘collected’ the most points at the end of the Competition.
We have three actual PRIZES available for you to win in our Birthday Competition!
The prizes are:
1st Place Winner - £100 to spend at Hobby Mounts
2nd Place Winner - £50 to spend at Hobby Mounts
3rd Place Winner - £25 to spend at Hobby Mounts
On top of the physical prizes, we also (and more importantly!) have three exclusive awards available for you to win in our first competition. They are:
1st Place Winner - Gold Trophy
2nd Place Winner - Silver Trophy
3rd Place Winner - Bronze Trophy
There are 25 treasure hunt items to collect and a further 25 bonus points available, giving a total of 50 possible points:
- Canal Lock
– Bonus point if a boat is in the lock - Lake or Reservoir
– Bonus point if there is a pier or jetty in said lake / water - Yourself
– A dronie
– Bonus point if the Dronie is of two club members - Agricultural field
– Bonus point if there is a tractor, sprayer or harvester in the field - Sunrise or Sunset, rising or setting through multiple trees (Example)
– Taken at a minimum height of 5m
– Bonus point if they are pine trees - The sun’s reflection in water
– Canals, lakes, reservoirs, etc
– Bonus point for any clouds also visible in the water reflection - Steam train
– Must be moving
– Bonus point if any other moving train is also in the same shot - A church
– Bonus point if it has a bell tower - A castle
– Bonus point if it has a moat or draw bridge - Clock Tower
– Must be operational
– Bonus point if the time reads seven o’clock (am or pm) - Solar farm
– Bonus point if it covers more than 50 acres of land - Crop Circle
– Man made or otherwise
– Bonus point if you provide a link to a news article for the same crop circle - Monument
– Bonus point if you provide a Wikipedia link to said monument - Sandy Beach
– Bonus point if it has a pier - Suspension bridge (Example)
– Bonus point if it has at least three towers - Tall Building (with 10 or more storeys)
– Bonus point if 20 or more storeys
– Additional bonus point if 30 or more storeys - Aquaduct/Viaduct
– Bonus point if a car, boat or train is on/in the aqua/viaduct - Windmill
– Bonus point if is has sails - Wind Turbine
– Bonus point if 10 or more turbines are visible - Lighthouse
– Bonus point if it is lit - Above the fog
– Bonus point if something is protruding above the fog - A rainbow
– Bonus point if double rainbow - A tennis court
– Bonus point if people are playing tennis - A motorsport track
– Bonus point if vehicles are on the track - Something over 100 years old
– Wildcard entry, completely open to any interpretation but make sure it’s interesting, this is a Competition remember!
The rules and small print for this challenge are as follows:

You must post your entries to this thread in order for them to be eligible (feel free to also post / duplicate them in the Photos by Drone or Videos by Drone categories if you wish)

This competition is open from Friday 5th July 2019 to Friday 16th August 2019, the closing date. Media posted to this thread outside of these dates will not be eligible. Your entries must have been captured between these dates

You must tell us when and where (geographically) the photo/video was taken and provide some information about any significant items included in the view (what it’s called: a church name, for example)

Your shot must be framed. Objects not centred in the shot will be classed as flukes and will not be eligible

Only one item on the Treasure Hunt list can be claimed per shot/entry. No two entries can be of the same location in order to claim multiple treasure items

All media must have been captured in the UK (For our overseas members, all media must have been captured in your home country)

You must only insert one photo or video per post / reply (so we can link directly to it)

Once your entry has been confirmed as eligible and/or added to the Leaderboard it may not be replaced or substituted for another entry at a later date

Media must be shot using your drone while it is flying

Videos must be a maximum of 30 seconds and may contain time-lapse and/or hyper-lapse

Entries must be taken within the guidelines of the Drone Code

The member with the highest number of points at 22:00hrs on the closing date will be deemed the winner and that member will be awarded the exclusive 1st Place Gold Trophy and £100 to spend at Hobby Mounts. The member with the second highest number of collected items will be awarded the 2nd Place Silver Trophy and £50 to spend at Hobby Mounts, and the post with the third highest number of collected items will be awarded the 3rd Place Bronze Trophy and £25 to spend at Hobby Mounts

The first person to collect all the items and/or earn all available points may not necessarily be the winner (we understand people have jobs, families, lives to lead, etc)

In the event of a tie at any position the Grey Arrows Drone Club Committee reserve the right to declare an outright winner at that position
