What frequencies were you both on ???
The dji blasts out of the goggles when it switches on. If you’re near your buddy and he’s in the air, its brown trousers time
5.8 for me - Steve changed it swiftly to 2. something and it was fine after that.
Wait until you see the goggle footage and you’ll see why I shat myself… almost
Really does mate. Was a very frightening few moments
Surely only half as bad as last week when we both overpowered you
At least that time I managed to fly on. This time was a little different
It was on auto frequency. 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz auto switching. (Ocusync 3)
While Howard was flying with his goggles on I noticed it said 5.8ghz on one off his antenna’s.
This was after he had the trouser moment. The penny dropped and I turned off the 5.8ghz transmission from my goggles and problem solved.
I will add this was purely accidental on your part mate.
Get the BN-180 it has a smaller form factor and can be tucked away easier
No worries if there is no other damage you can solder some thin wires direct to those four pads behind.
If you need the pin out details or some help just shout up
Oh crap. That’s whats left of the whole quad? Sorry mate
It’s in my ‘box of bits for repair at some point in time’
Where abouts did you have the GPS unit mounted on your quad Martin?
And what frame was it on? I can design and print you a mount for it if you want?
Like the one I designed and printed for my wind5:
Deano printed me one too which works great (Thanks again Deano)
Oh bugger that’s pretty similar to mine lol I’ll have to crash carefully
As @notveryprettyboy pointed out to me when I was building my toothpick you’d want to cover the top of that GPS as the factory calibration involves scratches on the top surface so if it gets scratched in a crash it can also stop it working. Easiest way is to just wrap it in some electrical tape
This is why I prefer the BN-180 as its tiny lol
