Thoughts please as to my problems with Mini 2

Thanks to all those here that are a lot more experienced than me, but could do with some advise.

Just did my first test flight after checking I had the latest firmware and my app was the latest etc.

No errors on take off or during the short test flight of 3 minutes.

IMU error afterwards.

The home point was set 572 feet away according to the stats in Airdata

Wind was 3.7 mph gusts - so nothing according to Airdata

It was very unstable in the air - looked like it was being buffeted by the wind. Didn’t feel windy. Only went up 4m - not very high at all.

I did a manual return home, which I am glad I did otherwise it would have gone away!

Any thoughts as I got this purely for use where I can’t use the MA2.

Thanks!

I used to get an IMU error every time I landed.

The fix was easy, I just recalibrated the IMU again and I’ve not seen it since.

Give it a go

Did you allow enough time for your Mini2 to acquire a suitable number of satellites for it to log the take-off point as the home point prior to arming?

It is a small quad with small props and high Kv rated motors. Compared to your Air2, it will need to make significantly bigger changes in motor speed to hold a position than your Air2 would in the same conditions.

Nidge.

I had this issue too, on the Mini 1 but haven’t encountered it on the Mini 2 yet.

@DroneGeek this might be worth a look too:

Yes - waited for the take off permitted wording and did and automatic take off.

Was quite surprised by the inaccurate location.

I’m guessing you didn’t actually check where the home point had been recorded though

Thanks, yes understand - but this was almost zero wind - I will watch a couple of videos of the Mini 2 to see if it shakes as much - it was certainly not hovering in one position and was constantly moving backwards.

no. To be fair I have never really checked in the past - so I will see if I can do that in the future, thanks.

Be sure to run through that IMU calibration again though.

Already done it - so I will try again - was just a bit worried about it flying away.

Still very new at all this

Are you using an iphone by any chance mate? I’ve had the same sort of problem this afternoon, suddenly went into Atti mode with no warning and blew across the field, luckily only about a foot in the air, so when I dropped it, no damage!

Android

It seems to be a glitch with the app then I think, there’s been a few saying they’ve had problems with iOS, but I haven’t heard of any with Android before.

When you checked the app version, did you go to the Play store and check for updates or DJI’s site? The latest Android version is only available as a direct download

Havin the latest Android version woud be no good to me, I use an iphone 11!

Thanks. Running the downloaded latest version.

I’m glad the IMU calibration fixed it :+1:t2:

Not for me it hasn’t - or not yet. I’ll try again tomorrow.

Any Airdata for us to look at.

I flew mine Saturday, no issues apart from a dataloss for 10 seconds ( I was putting the dog on his lead so the controller was in my pocket)

Sure, but not sure what to post images of or which segments are relevant.
