UK Class Marks, Remote ID and drone regulation changes: What you need to know for 1st January 2026

Maybe not the correct thread but…

Has anyone found a remote id scanning app?

I just set remote id up on my mini 4 and was curious.

Tia

There is an apple ios one called drone scanner (Gen2)
Bluetooth only

Ty, ill have a look. The android version of that is listed as legacy and didn’t run for me.

There’s some over here if it helps:

Forget Apple, they won’t let it use the wifi

I did point that out!

Yup, the BT thing was noted, ty

The version recommend requires an ios update so thats a no go for me as i use the pad, very rarely for the epic drone rescue phantom running ‘legacy’ software

The older version didn’t seem to work.

Ill check out the thread Mr Spike linked the next time im bored whilst conditoning batteries

I am running older software on the mini 4. I was surprisdd it gave me the RID option. Details were entered but it didnt seem to do much

Thanks again

If you want to check it’s transmitting RID, just use a phone and check for a WiFi network that will be the S/N of the drone
You must be in flight or the props running

Oh another question
Are you using an FCC hack

this works

Can’t seem to find the post as it was on a group I am not a member off, but it seems that newly purchased Neo 2’s have the UK0 class mark stamped onto them.

If true could that mean that other drones even though released prior to the new regs could have the new classes stamped on them and maybe have older EU classed drones re-classed ( I live in hope ) or maybe just maybe the EU classes will be carried over till they reclass so they don’t become legacy drones ?

Maybe @LeicesterDrones could check one of their new stock Neo 2’s to validate ?

I forgot that they seal the boxes like phones - hopefully someone has got a new one can confirm and its not a fake post.

Sadly there is no CAA list of what drones have been approved for UK classification - there seems to be one for remote ID for the US FCC but not an official UK one and even some lists I have found seem to suggest that the Air2 has a C class - some do and some don’t

I have the fcc thingy on the rc2pro/mini 5 tho i’ve rarely used it so far.

Is it done tweaks, and have you flown the Mini 4 Pro using this controller with drone tweaks

Yup, drone tweaks.

In pretty sure i did but tbh i cant remember for sure.

Want me to have a fiddle?

Drone tweaks can enable RID. If you set it to standard mode when the app starts, it will enable RID

Use optimised for Remote ID

When RID is enabled, it’s a pain to turn off again. The best way is to use the normal DJI app with good GPS, and it may take a few take-offs and reboots to turn it off

It’s on Facey so it must be true.

Anyone know the best Chinese in (replace with your own town name) ?

They’re probably waiting until the first drone is released that has been approved for UK classification

Mostly that picture on Facebook leaves me wondering why the drone is stamped UKO instead of UK0. :man_facepalming::rofl:
