Vista issue

Oky Doky here we go again with a new Vista :persevere:

My plan is to follow Deano diagram when installing take loads of pic’s and post before powering up :crossed_fingers:t4:

Be careful as there was couple of wrong diagrams in this thread lol

Bast way to do it is to match the wires double check the plug matches with your flight controller and make sure the 10v goes to 10v and ground goes to ground TX goes to RX and RX goes to TX and then make sure your sbus wire goes to the correct RX for your flight controller (looking at the photo of your board that would be R1) so Sbus to R1.

But before you bring any form of power to the board (including USB) take a photo of your wiring so that we can see both ends in one photo Vista end and FC end just to be double sure it’s correct :+1:t2:

It will be fine this time Nick, as Deano says double check all wires and post pics here before you power up :+1:t2:

Cheers guys and will do :+1:t4:

I know this is not the thread for it but just a heads up Iv been made aware of a new bando site which I will be checking out tomorrow so Ill post some pic’s :+1:t4:

Ok I now see where I went wrong last time, I matched the wire in sequence rather than taking note of what I was matching to …

As you can see from below the red goes to R1 which I believe to be my SBus ?? And yellow is 10v …

That is correct Nick but to avoid confusion in the future it might be worth you swapping the 10V and Sbus (outermost Red and Yellow wires) by removing the pins from the connector and swapping them around like you did before. That way it will all be correct from the start and less chance of confusion

Follow this post from Deano :+1:t2:

Like your thinking :+1:t4:

Im just about there just a little confused as to my RX and TX ??

So are we saying the RX on my FC should go to TX on my Vista and TX on my FC should go to RX on my Vista ???

Sorry about this just want to get it right this time …

That is correct :+1:t2:

Yes as @SirGunner said that is correct. For your better understanding of the the TX and RX think of it like this:

Send and Receive of data.

So TX is Sending the data and RX is Receiving the data.

So you always want the sending pad to go to a Receiving pad. Hope that helps you make a little more sense of the TX and RX pads and why they need to cross over :+1:t2:

Well I think this is it sports fans, what do you think ??

You didn’t Dpin the connector then like @SirGunner said to avoid confusion?

Red is ALWAYS power…

And is what caused the confusion of the initial vista… :man_facepalming:t2:

Not the way I would of done it myself personally. But yes I guess that should work.

I know what your saying mate, just didn’t want to risk fluffing anything up further, plus its bloody freezing in my garage

Iv now got it into my head and Iv printed stuff off and stuck it to the wall in my garage, that you NEVER go by the wire colours only by what’s on the board :+1:t4:

Thanks for you help mate once iv defrosted ill pop back in the garage and finish the build …

As long as YOU remember you have changed the colours. It will work fine but if you ask for help in the future the people you’re asking don’t know you have swapped the wire colours so could be potentially giving you the wrong information through no fault of their own if that makes sense.
Sorry just got back from changing a wheel on my 20 year old Sons car. He had a flat but all his 20 something mates and himself (who apparently are all boyracer car enthusiasts) have no idea how to change a wheel?! :exploding_head: I mean what the fuck is wrong with these younger generations nowadays?? :man_facepalming:
I should also add that I’ve shown him how to change a wheel before when the same thing happened on his last car too :man_facepalming:

I hear you mate and noted :+1:t4:

As for your son I can only agree, but when it comes to mine I blame his mother

Ok good news bad news :man_facepalming:t4:

Everything works

But I have 2 issues
1:- the thing has unbelievable power and that’s on a 4s 850 battery and it will take a 6s :astonished:

2:- Not sure if its the power or not, but when I give it some throttle it flips out. Iv checked the motor direction which is right in BF but not sure if it matters if the motors ain’t in the right order as in BF ???

You’ll get used to it lol

Just to confirm, does it flip as soon as you start to take off, or can it fly ok if you just take it easy? Will it hover and pitch forwards backwards, roll left and right etc?

Also just so you know the 4200kv version you have will NOT take 6S. They go to 4S max. If you put 6S up it’s arse you will smoke the motors :grimacing:

Also congrats on getting it working :clap:t2:
