Vista issue

Also to that make sure you bind the controller first. If u bind the goggles then controller your goggles will unbind. That used to be an issue but not sure if the vista has it. I had the issue on the caddx air unit.

Surely if you check the setting in the Google first and see what the protocol is set to

if it’s normal then it should work without setting the sbus to fast

Try both but I still feel if you put 10v on the sbus then you killed at least the diode

I some how managed to put 10 into rx of a crossfire reciever and still worked fine probs just got lucky

Iv uploaded set sbus_baud_fast = ON to the CLI and then typed save and entered it, swopped the Protocol round in my goggles but still nothing and. I did however notice when the guy saved and entered his the quad gave the reboot signal which mine didn’t ??? :worried:
I’m now wondering “but wouldn’t know” if my Betaflight is right, as the guy said something about 4.1 this is the 1 I’m using but not sure what’s on the quad???.

@benb1202 Iv bound my goggles first in this case as doing the controller first would do as you say, but I can re flash the unit and go through the binding process controller first…

@SparkyFPV Sorry not sure how yo do this mate (Surely if you check the setting in the Google first and see what the protocol is)

The 4.1 is the firmware on the drone which would have been the latest offer most stable for him at the time. We have now bf 4.2 which should be stable. Does your controller beep / light up when u enter bind mode on it ? I’m pretty sure it should beep or something.

No red and blue light flashing but no beep, just to go back to the beginning these are my wires at the mo…

The tx that is connecting to the plug disconnect that and just run the cable to r5 which u said yesterday

Is ur antenna connected to the unit ?

They look wrong… the red voltage wire should be directly below the antenna connector I think you’ve wired it backwards. Check below.

With the antenna connector facing down it should go from right to left:

Red wire to the 10v pad on the flight controller.
Black wire to the ground pad on the flight controller.
White wire to the TX(x) pad on the flight controller.
Yellow wire to the RX(x) pad on the flight controller.
Black wire to the ground pad on the flight controller.
Yellow wire to the SBUS pad on the flight controller.

Now in the ports tab:

Set serial RX on uart5

And MSP on uart2.

Then try and re bind.

All this info I’ve found on Google using the information you have provided. Hopefully this will see you right.

If it doesn’t work after you’ve followed this then I’m going to guess that you’ve fried something.

Looking back through the post I don’t think you’ve set serial RX on uart5 before so try that as the diagram I posted above is taken directly from the pin out diagram of your exact T-Motor board and it clearly says sbus in the plug connector is using uart5.

I think he has the wires backwards as the connector of the bundle of wires from the vista is the opposite way round to the female end on the board

But if that’s the case it wouldn’t power up at all… it’s really difficult using text and photos lol

When he plugs the connector into the board the red wire connects to rx2 so he inverted all the wires on the unit to match. I had this problem so I just hardwired it onto the board

OK I see what’s gone on here it’s because he’s been discussing everything over multiple threads so in the so what’s on your bench thread it was discussed that the connector was wrong so he’s using the yellow wire as the voltage wire. Fuck me that’s going to confuse things massively :man_facepalming:t2:

Should of just de pinned the connector in my opinion so it doesn’t confuse things…

Yeah but what I’m worried about is that I think he powered the drone on with the wires the correct way on the unit which meant when he turned on the drone 10v ran straight into sbus on the unit if u get what I’m saying :boom:. There must be protection against it but I don’t know

Looking at the pin out for the T-Motor Mini F7 HD FC that he’s using the Sbus pad is uart5.

He is going to wire sbus to rx 5 yes

On the picture he shown us it doesn’t look like the ufl is connected at all

No it’s already UART5 in the connector, I’m pretty sure he hasn’t set uart5 as serial rx in the ports tab before.

Ah I didn’t see that diagram yeah he has the ports mixed up
