Where/How best to attach your CAA Operator ID label?

More annoyingly … I have about 100 reels, and a variety of colours and widths, of the 20 year old stuff!

And mine :+1:

“Visible when on ground
No special tools required”

I see no issue with it inside battery compartment

As per:

https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/labelling-your-drone-or-model-aircraft

Your operator ID must be:

  • visible from the outside, or within a compartment that can easily be accessed without using a tool
  • clear and in block capitals taller than 3mm
  • secure and safe from damage
  • on the main body of the aircraft

They will contact you, they are just getting a firing squad together. For littering and losing your I.D? I do the same as the other guys I.D in battery compartment.

I marked my M/air on one front arm & one rear arm

If you put your ID in the battery compartment, they can do you for that as well!

visible without needing a special tool to remove or open part of your aircraft - sounds like the battery compartment

I’ve marked MA2 on the body, near the as card cover, can’t be seen when it’s folded but also no special tools needed to be able to see it

“operator id should be… could”
Correct but the CAA used “should…+… could” not “shall” and in their own interpretation and ASD-STE100 (AECMA) Simplified English (or chimp-speak) is quite specific "should or could " is not mandatory, so the CAA do give some leeway.

Simply printed out a small label on paper and stuck to the side of the drone with 3M tape - OP ID on one side of the drone, mobile number on the other side

Hi guys just about to register my mini 2.
What does everyone use to attach your ID to your drone. Has anyone used those Dymo labels? Where’s the best place to attach it.
Obviously it’s no good using a sharpie just in case you want to sell it later.

I have used a brother label printer that uses tape but I don’t see why a dymo label wouldn’t work.

@Stevio I’ve moved this post of yours in to an existing topic as well.

This forum has a great search function, it’s really powerful.

It’d be great if you could try it please, before creating new topics.

Are there any air vents in the battery compartment of the mini 2 as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of room to what I can only imagine will be a fair sized dymo label as it has to be printed out in capitals.

If I stick it on the top of the drone on the outside in the middle will that affect performance and battery life due to any air friction? :grinning:
