Which video editing software

So recently upgraded my laptop as previously was always using mobile apps to edit my videos which doesn’t offer a great range of possibilities.

Any suggestions of a windows video editing software that’s free to download/use

Thanks

Did you have no luck with some searches in the Video and Photo Editing category here @davidjw93 ?

Moved your post to this thread which has a LOT of info.

It does include info on software for other operating systems, but also a lot on WIndows, and it saves people repeating the same things in a new thread.

Personal recommendations?

Low tech - look at CapCut

High tech - Davinci Resolve

Hello there, people ! Having just bought a mini 4 Pro, I am wondering which video/photo editor to choose in order to process my footage…one which is intuitive to use, is actually useful, and not too pricey ! lol. I would really appreciate any input from anyone out there. Thanks in advance…Mike M.

Moved your post to this thread with plenty of info on video editing.

There’s a similar thread for photo editing. I’ll post a link in a tick.

Need to keep the two separate or it all becomes a confusing mess.

Thanks, OzoneVibe! Duh! Trust me to make my post the title of the topic…what am I like? lol.

The crashing software is a strange one. I have use DaVinci on two different laptops with no issues, though the first time i tried it was an old laptop which didn’t have enough processing power and that one did grind to a halt as the project got bigger.

Hi @BankerDJ, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

As I use a raspberry pi 5 with a 500 gb ssd I have come across a great video editing software called Kdenlive. It’s open source software and is completely FREE.
It’s very easy to use and I have had great results using it…would highly recommend.

Post an example?

How long does it take to render 4K video on a Pi?

If you want quick rendering then the raspberry pi is not the choice of computer.
Although the new raspberry pi 5 with 8 gb of ram is more than adequate for shorter film shots which I usually do (10/12 mins). It all depends on the film quality you set on your drone as to the size of the file it produces, a 500 mb takes about 8/12 mins to render.

I don’t know what 500mb is in 4K video length

If you’re throwing any 4K at it in the future please do let us know how long it takes @coypu44

Depends totally on the level of compression.

Will do PingSpike. :+1:
