Which video editing software

I won’t ask :flushed:

If you are getting dizzy watching your rotation videos try slowing the rotation factor down on the drone.

Guys, can you recommend a decent, free, easy to use editing package so i can have a play with my Mavic pro 2 footage please?

I’ve never done it before, we have someone at work who does it for us, but I thought I’d give it a go while at home during the Covid lockdown.
I’ve literally never done it before.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan
This is a very well and long discussed topic on this site.
Favourite seems to be DaVinci Resolve (which is free)
Also Filmora9 is well rated, costs a few quid but not a fortune
I suggest you do some searching in the threads, but I’m sure somebody (many people ) will be along soon to elaborate on this
Cheers
Steve :slightly_smiling_face:

Best video software for editing drone footage

Your post was moved to this thread with the same question.

Such questions are asked repeatedly, and the answers don’t change, and can be easily found using the search.

Hi @Airwolf I also use an iMac and a Mavic 2 pro and I can really recommend Davinci Resolve, it’s a free download and used by many pros, will take a little while to get your head around it but there are many video tutorials to hep you get started and you’ll wonder why you would ever want to use anything else.

I also use Davinci Resolve. The free version is very capable and very few features missing compared to the paid version.
Plus as many have already stated there are lots of tutorials out there for it.

What is a good value money editing program to use with drone footage (Dji mini 2). That caters for Video, Photos, and Raw. ?

Your post has been moved to this extensive thread about Video Editors.

You won’t get a good editor that handles both video and images, so, for Photo Editors, take a look at this thread : Best photo editing software

Hi again folks. Very newbie here. DJI Mini 2 flown for second time today and managed to remember to hit record before take off. I’m now looking at 2 batteries worth of my practicing footage in a “big wide open space” as recommended by, well, everybody.
Want to share some “highlights?” so looking for suggestions on edit software.
Have windows 10 on laptop and would prefer to use that, phones are so small.

@johndps I’ve moved your question to an exiting thread on the same subject.

Have a scroll up, you’ll find lots of useful information here.

Just had a similar dilemma, a lot depends what you want to do with it. If you just want to trim some clips then Microsoft has a free editor for Windows, called Movie Maker. If you want to do a bit more complicated stuff then Filmora or HitFilm Express are good and free. Resolve (the Blackmagicdesign software) is probably the best free editor but it really does require a powerful machine to run well.

Cyberlink PowerDirector is very capable and not too expensive (especially if you catch one of their frequent sales) and also handles high res footage on a fairly low spec machine very well.

Are people editing on Mac/PC iPad/Tablets?

I’ve been editing on my iPad with lumafusion, which is great and an absolute steal at £20. Can export to final X Pro as well so when I get a new iMac later this year, think I’ll head in that direction.
