Yikes - litchi waypoint differs from flown course

Hi
mini2 Drone followed course up Clyde reasonably well till crossing A77, then did some weird loops see airdata which were well unintended

Anyone had this or similar ?

Signal strength is a tad low at that point … just 40%.

Not sure, obviously, whether your RC was not facing the optimum orientation, or (possibly) some kind of interference from the rail overhead powerlines.

Never heard of the latter being an issue, but they are becoming close to the line of sight.

Likewise when you were at WP8 the signal was at 40% …

Dropping the mission into Google Earth, it appears you were probably having the signal a little obscured by the buildings closest to you.

This is the view from WP8 toward TOAL …

Thanks , assume its a sunset / twilight phenomenon as the largely similar ( route to kingston bridge changed ) but not the central station end similar afternoon route did not have the issue . That said 40% signal is considered “Fair” by litchi

,
Assuming its a digital signal all the instructions reach with 40% intensity rather than only 40% of the instructions reach , or am I being silly ?

Just a reminder about a previous Litchi Clyde episode:

It’s not the same part of the Clyde, but it’s not far away… Flew the route three times, and only the third time had an error… but it was a big one!

My first thought was magnetic interference affecting the compass? You’ve just passed over three bridges, two of which are clad in granite and the railway bridge is basically a steel lattice on top of solid granite piers.

Saying that, I’ve done a couple of pre-planned flights (DJI waypoints rather than litchi) with the Mini 4 over the past few months where it suddenly decided it needed to do an emergency loop to avoid phantom objects. Seems to happen when the sun is uncommonly bright.

A low sun? I know that can be an issue for some on an ordinary flight - no waypoints or Litchi.

Low or high… any sunlight has been uncommon this year  But yeah, these were later afternoon flights rather than noon.

Thanks , seems similar to @facherty as had flown same route earlier with no problem

so don’t think problem with bridges either magnetic @JoeC ( perhaps sun ) or occlusion @OzoneVibe

Compass problem possibly seems to need recalibrated a lot last few evenings , either that or the Clyde river spirit, Clutha dislikes copters of all sorts ?

Ooft! That’s the kind of humour my inner monologue comes up with but my brain blocks from my “just say it out loud” pipeline

Don’t fuck with river spirits. Sabrina, the one for the Severn, once drowned 90% of an entire Roman Legion, the 2nd Augustan, at the request of a couple of Silurian druids.
