Autel Explorer - App updates and download links

A thread to discuss Autel Explorer app updates.

For reference, the Autel Evo Nano and Autel Evo Lite drones use the Autel Sky app.

The Autel Evo and Autel Evo II drones use the Autel Explorer app.

Latest Autel Explorer app is out of beta and working its way to the app stores now. I can see the Android version but not the Apple version yet.

This is the app version that now supports all the features in the recent firmware update :+1:t2:

New features for EVO II users:

  • Added an option to disable Voice Assistant
  • Added OA notification sounds
  • Added Pre-flight security check prompt
  • Added ISO manual mode
  • Added Smart Orbit
  • Added remote control joystick EXP sensitivity adjustment
  • Added aircraft sensitivity adjustment for attitude, brake and yaw movement

Bugs Fixes and Optimizations:

  • Resolved the GPS location deviation issue in HK and Macau
  • OA status remains unchanged when users switch the speed modes
  • Other minor bug fixes

This should also address some of my initial first impressions:

Update time!

I like the app layout, and they have added some nice features.
DJI are you listening? This is the way to show new features.

HI, as Autel have the update to the App and firmware on YouTube, I thought I would respond back to them, I had problems with the last APP version, mind it was beta I suppose… so perhaps I will get an answer… and yes the version 9.0 comment came from here… so I’m not to certain what to make of it, apart from as said, all apart from V9.0 crashed the app selecting MIssion.

Reply to AUTEL… " HI, With the latest APP (1.1.7.38) now the APP is working with Android below version 9.0. using anything below this version (Beta) would crash the app when you selected “Mission” although I did report this I never had any response. It is now back to working down to 7.0 version, this means my two other older tablets, 7.1 and 8.0 and one Samsung S7 Edge phone 8.1 can be used again… so this is really good, what is not so good is I never had a response and it seems more luck than judgement it now works OK.
People I spoke to on various sites and blogs all said , yes you need Android 9.0 I was even shown an extract which seemed to be from Autel saying the same thing…! Any comment appreciated, did Autel know this, was it fixed by accident, are you going to consider this next time there is an update…? Thanks

Ta

I never run beta apps, or beta firmware, on any of my drones. I’m simply not that brave!

On my DJI drones I usually even wait a couple of weeks once it’s out of beta, just in case

Interesting catch though, I run the Autel Explorer app on my CrystalSky. I forget which version of Android it is now (it’s defo not v9) but I’ve not come across the issue you described. That said, I’ve never flown a mission on the Evo so may have just never come across the problem because of that.

HI, be good to see what APP version you are running and try Missions, all I had to do was click on it and it crashed the App, but if you had the previous non Beta version it would probably be OK… Ta
