Amazing how a “collection of predominantly civilians from other walks of live”, together with drones, phones, tablets, domestic windows computers and google Earth, is holding Russia at bay.

Just watching on Eurosport the Austrian downhill they are using FPV drones to keep up with the video feeds when the skiers are at 110 km/h you can hear the scream of the FPV. They are keeping up with the skiers

They’ve been using drones for a few seasons. I think I’ve posted some somewhere above.
The pilots have certainly improved over that time.
I have a friend who’s currently in Kitzbuhle, and I’ve tasked him with finding out how many they are using to maintain coverage - and hopefully some pics of one.
This almost disaster for my favourite skier was definitely best captured by the drone.
