Emax Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle

Heh yeah I don’t understand it yet. Watching Chris Rossers 4.3 guides. might have a go on Sunday. ATM more airtime needed

I’ve seen some of his stuff too, very informative, I will watch it more closely when I’m ready to mess with that lol
Also on the topic of 4.3, I’ve watched all videos Bardwell has put on the playlist, its been very helpful to understand the software and configuration options.

I would like to have more flight time than I’m currently doing, one of the things is that I’m limited to only 2 lipos, the ones that came with the drone, I’ve bought additional but its coming from China via the silk road by mule… The other is that the wind is not a TinyWhoops friend, and we have a lot of that…

Field charging or more batteries. I have at least 4 of each type which I charge before going out and field charging. Though that is heavy (for now, new lighter field charging is in progress!)

2 packs… I wouldn’t go out lol

I wonder if you could field charge the whoop 1s from a usb battery pack. Don’t see why not?

Good point. This is possible for sure with the mini charger that came with the drone (little betafpv charger, the white one), it takes usb at 5v, so no issues there.
I guess it could work out, although I might have to wait around at some point between charges as it does take close to 30 minutes to do so, not the best scenario but doable. With more packs that would be less of an issue as by the time I’m done with the last one, lets say that is pack 6, the first would be charged already and the second on its way to being done…

Very easy solution as any power bank would do…

yes indeed. Think I did that before with USB battery banks, and as you say 5 mins flight time, if you had 6 packs to go through you’d be constantly looping. I’d leave a battery to cool a bit before charging though. I tend to fly two packs, and then put the first one on charge minimum. If get low on them, swap quads (because of course all my quads use different size packs… lol, doh!). Then I have to move the damned runcam thumb… Lol it’s an effort this flying

I’m figuring this out now… but the fun outweighs the hassle (at least in this particular case)

Btw, what field charger do you use for your lipos? I will eventually upgrade to a bigger drone and I have started looking into chargers as well for this seemingly inevitable future…

24kg of pure evil… Unlike the cobra X’s. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this. It’s great out the back of the car… But… Stay tuned as end of next week will have my newer, leaner, lighter solution! This will become the solar gatherer solely (so all my quads, phones, laptops are “solar powered”!)

FH!! Not a back pocket solution for sure… lol That is something that wouldn’t work for me, no car to carry it all…
But solar is something I’m interested on. Look forward to see what you have come up with…

I swear my arm was actually longer after carrying that beast just a few metres.

Personally I’ve gone for the buy lots of lipos solution… HobbyRC (etc) love me…

Yeah, this seems a much more feasible solution for me… I was thinking when the time comes, around 6 packs should be enough for a good park session…

@GunjaFPV Out of curiosity… Is that a car battery? How many packs can you recharge with it? Would a motorcycle battery be enough?

About 6 packs in each size I have is what i go for…

The issue being I seem to have lots of different sized quads.

I’m mentally challenging myself not to go down that road…lol Time will tell how well I manage it…

6s… 6s is calling you… 6s…

It’s a 70Ah leisure battery (similar, but better for deep cycles). Not sure on total, but I charged up the mavic mini, about 12 FPV Lipos, the goggles, and radio on Sat night, and then charged everything all day long at Drone Circle and had around 60% left (had dropped to 12.4V), but it’s far too heavy. My next solution a lot more portable. TBH it’s not yet recharged from the sun since Sunday, btu it has been cloudy! lol!

Off the grid charging, that’s awesome !! The weight is not for nothing I see, very decent capacity…

Lmao. I keep thinking whether its needed for my 5" long range build… not sure…

They about 25-30 quid each? 6 of them? Hmmm… I’m tempted not going to lie. But need new motors too hah

Was a rash buy tbh hense the rethink. Though j keep going to where can fly out back of car or take a trolley so not too bad.
