Qinux H8 Please Help

Hi, I’m new to drones and have a H8 , I have managed to get the app downloaded and the WiFi connected, I’ve even managed to get it off the ground and have the camera connected, but my eyesight is not good and the instructions are soooo small. I’ve tried to find a manual online , but to no avail .the direction toggles on the handset don’t seem to do anything and as I can’t read what the other buttons are I’m struggling. Can anyone help ?
Is there an online manual?

Moved your post to a thread that might help, have a read at the above

I have just joined this group and your dialogue has been a huge help to me. I have had a K8 for three weeks and like the rest of you, I think I have been conned.

Hi all, I wish I had done proper research!

I too have succumbed to the dreaded offers H8 and a bottle of red!
It arrived but I cannot get it to sync fully, I can see live images via the app, but still have the flashing lights and no response otherwise.
I’ve tried uninstalling, batteries out, standing on one leg, etc…
The supplied instructions are diabolical, and need burning!

BeforeI get into claiming my money back I wonder if anyone can help me get it sync’d? If so, I will give it to my friends son for a birthday present and but a proper one,

Hi. New to Drones but I think i have had the same problem. I found the H8 seems to connect reliably to the phone ( the phone says it is connected to the drones wifi) - but on various occasions, (1) the app reports it is not connected and i get nothing, or (2) I cant get images but do get control, or (3) i get images but cant get a control response, or (4) it ‘works’ as expected. The only cure i have found is to pull the batteries out of the drone, leave it a while, replace batteries and turn it on again. And it then seems to then change state, and arbitarily moves between states 1-4. I am getting about a 30% hit rate for state 4. It does seem that i only get this 30% if the controller is turned off before the drone is turned on.
Agree - the instructions are the worst i have ever seen. The manuals translation is unintelligable and the instructions within the app are just screenshot images of the app with the buttons labelled.
I havent found a return to home facility on the App yet. There does seem to be a button on the controller but it hasnt worked for me yet.
Certainly think i have made a bad choice for my first drone experience.

I also fell for the K8/X8/H8 con. My thought was that I’d buy a cheap drone to learn to fly on before taking the more expensive DJI route. This was a complete waste of time, and luckily not too much money, and luckily I managed not to crash it in a way that caused damage or injury to anyone (this is a valid point, a drone as uncontrollable as this is dangerous). It proved impossible to control even in a flat calm, and absolutely impossible to control in any, even the lightest, breeze. I learned nothing, and learned a huge amount within the first 10 seconds of flying my DJI drone, which is what I should have bought in the first place.

By impossible to control, I mean that it could not hover and hold station irrespective of how many times I ‘calibrated’ it, and would only go where I sent it in the most approximate way. The sticks are either on or off, there is no control of speed, it’s either flat out or nowt. I did manage to get video and photos off it, but only of the lowest quality. Well, what did I expect for £23…

I expected it to behave as it claimed in the blurb, and it didn’t. I learned nothing from it, and never managed to get it to hover or move slowly under control, which I regard as essential for good photography. In the end I bought a DJI Mini 2 SE and gave the wonderdrone (as in ‘I wonder if it’ll fly properly this time’) away to a neighbour, whose kids are happy enough zooming inaccurately around the park with it; it is only a matter of time before it crashes irrepairably or is a flyaway.

Bad enough that the thing is an outright scam but it is potentially dangerous; 236g hurtling around out of any meaningful control at 30mph is borderline lethal. The only good thing about it was the lights, which are reasonably bright and visible from a good distance; everything else is absolute rubbish. I doubt if Trading Standards would be able to get your money back (though Amazon can) because no doubt the sellers, assuming they could be found in the first place, will claim that it flies, which it does after a fashion, and is therefore as claimed.

If you are a newbie and reading this, save yourself the money and put it towards a proper drone. At the very minimum, go for one with GPS (and beware cheapo ripofffs that claim to have this but don’t), and RTH (beware ditto). GPS is neccessary for reliable hovering, and the benefit of RTH, which needs GPS to work. is obvious. Another minimum requirement is graduated speed control so that you can move the drone at a controlled slow speed if needed, not that this provision is easy to research! Most people here will suggest DJI, and I’d agree with this advice, but the entry-level Mini 2 SE will set you back £249, 10x the cost of an Amazon cheapo. It’s worth it, but not everyone can afford it.

I cannot overstress the importance of GPS. It enables properly precise control and positioning in wind up to the rated force of the drone, and allows RTH, compass, and live map features all of which will help you control and instantly locate your drone safely. It’ll also help you locate it if it goes down in the foliage. Steady positioning will assist the gimbal in holding the lens steady and guarantee good quality video and photos. GPS is the difference between a toy and a drone, and automated features like RTH or waypoint programming depend on it.

Sound advice - thank you

Which makes this an interesting choice…

Continuing the discussion from Qinux H8 Please Help:

I am another victim of that H8 hoax. I am a complete newbie and bought one because it was relatively inexpensive and I thought good to learn on and if I destroyed it I wouldn’t suffer a massive financial loss. But it is next to useless.

In the meantime, I have bought two AUD$42 Chinese drones just to learn the basics and they are far superior to the K8. I have been learning for a few weeks and getting better at flying, but the 4K camera is awful.

Question? I am now confident enough that I want to move to the next level. PLEASE, people, give me an idea of where to go next. I will appreciate any help you can offer.

I wouldnt bother with a tiny whoop as they so small the batteries only last 4mins, thought i would get one to learn acro on, but its pointless, the wind takes it and indoors isnt big enough

Off topic, but it was about a year before I had learned enough about FPV quads to be able to set the rates on my tiny whoop to a point where I was actually able to fly it indoors. Of course, I’d also picked up a bit more flying skill on the way, but getting the rates right really helped.

@TrevorC There’s a big difference between camera drones (like the DJI Mavics/Minis, and the wannabe Qinux) and the FPV quads that LloydRey is talking about. If it’s a camera drone you’re after (and I suspect it is), then jimvfrmoto750 is on the money, along with any of the other DJI Minis, depending on where your budget lies.

And then there’s the DJI Avata, which sort of sits between the two, but that’s another story.

I have a H8 , I have not learnt much , I can keep it in the air using the controller, outdoor it is stressful and working hard , with the wind more than 2 mph, taken photos, mostly poor as I am struggling to keep it under control, poor product and I have had all my money back, and been told to not to send it back, have accidentally pressed many a button while keeping it in control. In door flying worries me as take off is only possible with the lift off button, the throttle stick will not take it off, but will work in the air to raise and lower it.
