Can’t deal with dji they done my head in last year and sent me a drone 50 shades of grey for my brand new faulty one , so I stuck it on my home insurance
I was 400 meters out to sea still.
Had my wife and son watching me.
They said it looked like I was having a heart attack.
Mate I was burning up and shaking it proper done my swead in , gotta laugh now tho
I think with the large battery it would do 5km
The signal was still good and perfect picture.
But I want to find the limits of the standard battery first.
I was doing great on the way out about 3 miles over fields and lakes but I forgot about the wind coming back then it all went Pete tong !
I knew I had enough juice just and I don’t like taking it critically low but I did and I failed ……
Edit : signal was good to be fair on the way out but for some reason on the way back it just or I just rather got it all wrong !
The return flight conditions such as wind are critical. (To make it back)
I know it’s a lesson learned
It was Bloody exciting anyway
A couple of times I’ve pushed it to far managed to get back and said
ooooooo never again
Then I got to ahead of myself
My next attempt will be in the Yorkshire dales.
Waiting for a nice still day and push it as far as I can over land.
That’s the better way and not over water !
Can you share the video with us?
He’s using Phanton Help, not Airdata, Dave. Perhaps that doesn’t have it
Ah …
Not much to see just North Sea
But I can put it up if you like .
Its very long there are 4 clips totalling around 20+ mins .
And I stopped the recording to conserve battery life the last 3/4 mins.
If you are having trouble sleeping it may help.
Wish I had recorded the RC and audio that would have been funny
Negligable!
Motors main user - video transmission second (and that won’t change if you’re not recording).
The additional amount to save to the card for a whole flight probably won’t change potential flight time by more than a few seconds. (OK - they might be critical. )
I was in full panic mode
Maybe one of these for next time
Or a long string
Not sure they’d be stable enough in the waves in the sea … and they’d shorten max range / flight time.
