If I’m not too late, heres my entry for a bridge.
Dinorwig Quarry in Llanberis, taken about 4 days ago
Not to late mate, great pic
Nice one Ted this is a fantastic photo mate
@SirGunner - Steve, good points and require serious consideration. I’m catching up a wee bit as Dogzilla wanted to drag me around the beach in the pouring rain and only just got back in.
@McSteamy2010 (Steve) and I are kind of making this up as we go along (waddya mean, it shows!) and all constructive criticism is welcome.
It would be great to have a thread just for the entries and one just for the comments. Except that you would have to keep switching back and forward between the threads to make complete sense of it rather than scroll up and down.
We don’t have the trust level to move posts into different threads as far as I can make out so it will remain messy
This is the alternative which I was going to post at the closure time for the competition and leave so that people can vote on the picture or video without necessarily knowing who took it

As you can see, as I was writing this we got a late entry - not too difficult to slot into the list which is in a psedo-random order to forestall any accusation of bias.
It would be less work for Steve McSteamy or myself and it’s something we are discussing. Using likes as votes means the like can see who the likes for his/her entry are. Not that I have any suspicions of people soliciting likes but I was very wary of letting that rough FPV crowd take part in our genteel competition …
I’ll have a little play in the sandbox and see if it is possible to place images rather than words as the poll selections and come back to you.
NEWSFLASH - yes, can embed images in the poll form!
Just posting this for interest - obviously not entering it, but I thought id show a bridge of some historical interest ( well, for me anyway ) - this is The Bridge on the River Kwai which I took from a boat a while back when we nipped down to Kanchanaburi for a breather from the heat up north… WW2 interested folk might find it interesting if nowt else.
@macspite and @McSteamy2010 you two are doing a great job and I think I can speak for everyone when I say all your hard work is really appreciated. I have really enjoyed getting out and trying to find a good shot to enter into the RTF competition And as a new drone flyer I don’t really need a ‘reason to fly’ at the moment but the competition element really adds to the fun of getting out and flying. Thanks guys!
The next subject has been decided by you:
So the competition starts at 00:01 Sunday morning - at the new location:
RTF Photo Competition OPEN - 04/10 to to 17/10 - A MONUMENT
But don’t forget - this competition has five hours to get an entry in - will there be a late entry?
And - have you expressed your likes for the pictures in this thread? Each like is a vote - so your likes count - voting open till Thursday!
This is an image taken with my Mavic 2 Pro today, of the proposed site of Boris Johnson’s £20 billion bridge, between Larne in Northern Ireland (far right of picture) and some random landing point near Portpatrick in Scotland. It hasn’t been built yet, but if it had it would be the best bridge ever, and better than all the other bridges in the competition put together.
There’s your winner right there. Shame it’s in the wrong thread
From here to infinity…!
If you haven’t yet voted for the image(s) you like you can find them dotted throughout this banter-filled and chaotic thread. Click on like to vote.
Here’s a shortcut:

Re “Monuments” - its it acceptable if doing one of a famous historical person, to have 2 shots - one front & one rear, as often they can be quite differently dynamic ?
Absolutely NOT chucking a spanner in chaps.
You could always set up an orbit and video the monument …
Or a collage still technically 1 image

Unlike party politics your votes CAN make a change!
He had watched the film of the now opened bridge in china - 34 miles long, 100% over water - built in under 4 years. Now THAT IS bridge building. They also complete 8K of new motorway, often over seriously difficult gorges etc PER YEAR.
Out of ignorance/interest, what is the “Dronescene” business in the comp ?
Remember chaps I’m a “foreign flyer” really so not up to speed on the UK/EU methodologies.
Genuine ask so just point me in the right direction unless its yet another “useful app” to clog up my phones
