So... what's on your bench at the moment?

I’d noticed mate and that you’ve also acquired some dji gear :sunglasses:.

I love the Nazgul and have heard great things about the evoke so naturally I’m interested in one.

May add a vista to the nazgul and see how that looks.
Lots of options now

This is looking pretty good to me. There are 4 20mm standoffs with the option of a further 12 for strength.
I’ll run it by the oracle @Steviegeek tomorrow then get it cut in carbon fibre

So it’s coming along… the already partially populated PCBs turned up today and I’ve been busy soldering what I have onto them. I’ve got the PI installed along with 3.3V and 5V voltage regulators, temperature and pressure sensor.

Case is printed, though I may reprint it if I get this all working because its not a great print.

The first RX5808 VRX arrived and is soldered onto it’s little board. Though since I don’t have the Blue Pill, I can’t use it yet. That should arrive next week.

I like the look of a white frame.
Yes, I know.

By the way…

+ve C-19 LFTs?

I drawn lines on them to fool the misses but it didn’t work. Should have used a red pen instead of black

Lap timer update…
It works!
It only has one channel… but it works!
So I had an issue with the RX5808 module. It appears that some old versions don’t support SPI properly out of the box and I had to go inside and clip off a surface mount resistor. Of course there’s no documentation about that on the RotorHazard guide… I had to go to their FB group and then search on another product guide to find out what to do.

Anyway, now you can set the frequency and moving a drone that is transmitting Video at that frequency near to it is detected.

What I need to do next is add a few more nodes to allow more than one drone to be detected.

Brilliant, so at next Big Meet we can have real FPV races :grinning:

Yes… we could indeed.

PMSL love that

My kind of humour…

These 2 bad boys are on the operating table at the mo, fingers crossed Iv just super Glued the Air 2 gimble but need new motor for the Nazgul :slightly_frowning_face:

Not sure if to use some JB weld apoxy on it also as to retain the strength in the gimbal. Or will the extra weight it affect it ???

OUCH !! what happened to the AIR2(S) :anguished:

Props iced up and it came down with a bang

Pre-fit testing of cheap servos before fitting to wing.
The tester cycles between 800 and 2200 milliseconds continuously.
Ran it for one hour, all good, servos stayed cool not unlike one I had a few months back which got quite hot and was duly consigned to the trash can :astonished:

Boy Racer lights on the Darwin79.

Not that I’m a boy or will be doing any racing but hopefully it’ll make it easier to find when it inevitably lands in the rough.

Inspired by this, tonight I will try to make one of these using an arduino I have

Flashy

The lap timer works. I just need to add some more channels.
