Group Fpv - Challenge Ideas

Have been trying to think of challenges( ideas ) for you Fpv guys & gals, is there anything you’d like to see as a challenge, once a month once every couple of weeks ? Anything ?
Crashes ( there’s always them ) :joy:
Best dive / flips etc etc,
Something you’d be interested in ?
If so drop us some ideas & thoughts below,

Now that’s a fantastic idea.

We can make this something similar the IGOW challenge, but with no prizes, maybe a badge for each winner.

Each month or fortnight, there could be a challenge set by winner of the previous challenge (frequency would depend on participating numbers)

Challenges could be open to all FPV drone pilots or broken down to Tiny Whoops (3 inch or less) & FPV (larger then 3 inch), maybe include wings too.

Challenges could consist of -
Power Loops.
Building Dives.
Orbits of certain items.
Fly through gaps of certain categories (for example - Bando windows, large tyres, trees)
Etc…

I would suggest starting with simple challenges, at first, that way everyone (beginners like myself, will have an opportunity to take part)

If you want additional FPV Challenge Committee members to assist organising and monitoring the challenges, I’m happy to throw my hat into the ring, not that I’m any form of FPV expert, but I’m happy to contribute, it will enable me to learn more manoeuvres.

What’s everyone else’s thoughts?

This has been done before, my fav was the fanny Vanny roll

Let’s revitalise it then.

We still have a few months of good weather ahead of us, until the winter sets in.

Plus there will be numerous new FPV pilots since the last challenge and it may / will attract Avata & Neo pilots too.

That’s up to the @Challenges_Committee

Let’s see what they come up with

I was thinking monthly but am happy to be guided otherwise,
Challenge set by the winner perfect !
Participants was what has had me thinking who or if how many would enter
Maybe set up a poll @TheBinman Jason to see if this will get interest / votes ?

All Fpv / self builds / DJI / wings would be welcome ( a one size fits all ) keeps it simple,

Sounds like a good idea which as you say may entice, the …

Then if when everyone has a feel for it old & new pilots,

:backhand_index_pointing_up: or would you rather jump in the deep end straight off ?
I’m all ears & I’m sure the best way to try & get this up & running is to listen to the audience as I don’t do Fpv myself but am more than happy to fire this up & see where this goes,

That will be immensely apreciated :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t have a dog in this fight*, but…

My first thought was “most impressive/spectacular gap”… and a parallel “most spectacular didn’t-quite-make-the-gap”.

My be a daft question coming up, but having just ordered the Goggles N3 and motion 3 for my Neo, would this be acceptable for those challenged that I would be able to complete (fly through gap etc) or would the challenges need to be completed with full manual control rather than Motion 3?

Not that my opinion or thoughts are set in stone, it will have to be up to the committee. But I don’t see it being a problem.

We all have to start somewhere, like yourself, I started out with the motion controller in June 2024 and I’ve now only been flying manual for around 2 months (not always successfully - may I add).

The more the merrier.

I see this a great opportunity for me (and others) to learn and improve their FPV flying skills.

There will be several experienced pilots, who will share their knowledge with us newbies, at the end of the day, the whole idea of it, is to have fun and learn. There are no prizes, other than recognition for completing or not completing challenge. (In short - piss taking):zany_face:

Thanks,

I feel some inevitable scratches and war wounds are to be had for the little Neo, along with no small amount of piss taking. Now I just need to make it to a Derbyshire meet up and practice.

I’ve opened up a poll at the below link, please vote accordingly.

Thanks :+1:t2:

Yeah enjoyed this. The FPV section has become a little stale. However we are all meeting much more than we had in previous years.

option / opportunity: we can have proper real life FPV competition. But we can also have some (maybe more adapted for winter?) simulator competition. Eg: recording a knife edge, an advanced figure such as a rubik cube, a difficult / long flight in a narrow space without crashing etc… plenty of options!
